OK-
Listen up.
My son is a fine musician, a poet and above all a social observer. No,
he is not Bob Dylan, and he is not John Lennon, but he sounds like
him. He can't help that because he is my son and I was born in Liverpool.
When I listen to him sing I can hear the nasal genes, the erk that he
is and the erk that I was. He doesn't want help from me but he is getting
this whether he likes it or not. Because he moves me. He moves his Dad. Wow! That
has got to be worth a listen because the feeling and the lyrical outrage
make his songs edgy listening. |
PLAGUE
and the MOONflower,
Ralph STEADMAN`s written and painted masterpiece, and the first-ever
musical work for the Millennium composed by Richard HARVEY. Commissioned
when Steadman was Artist- in-Residence at the Exeter Arts Festival
in 1989 it has taken ten years to finally get the CD version produced
for general release. The PLAGUE is a Plague Demon, not an alien,
but us, the dark side of our souls, our appetites, which exacerbate
any attempts we might make to put the world to rights. The MOONflower
is an exquisite Rainforest cactus, a parasite, the irony of all
beautiful things. The Plague Demon falls in love with her(sic!)
and realises that unless he(sic!) changes his ways he will never
see the MOONflower again. The music alone will tear your heart
to bits if you have still got one. Contact ALTUS
