Democracy or Demockery

I was reading about the Ukraine, the hell of Fallujah, the Sudan, where else you want? Zimbabwe? the West Bank? the whole goddamn mess of Israel- and generally the spectre of another 'democratic election' in Iraq at the end of January. I was thinking that what is happening in these Eastern European states now is a kind of accelerating progression of thought, or a chink of light at last, that people are realising that the so-called Democracy that we have imagined that we were enjoying in the West, since we fought for freedom for god knows how long, spurned oppressive ideologies, has in fact, been no more than a huge swindle, a defrauding blanket of horse shit. The Eastern European bloc has been so oppressed for so long, they have watched us in the West, and recognised the fault lines opening up in our various electoral processes, and exposed for what they are; no more than propaganda campaigns to keep people believing that they really do elect the government of their choice, irrespective of which one gets in. They recognise that it has been an ongoing swindle, polls have been rigged, people are cheating, ungodly fraud has been perpetrated, and all in the name of democracy, when democracy is the last thing that comes to mind. If it comes to a split through the whole of the Ukraine ultimately, well that would be a demonstration of true democracy at work. That is its very nature.

What the Ukrainians have realised is that they will be happy with the choice, even if it isn't their team that won, provided that the process of selection is fair, open and fought for in a spirit of noble human conflict- a battle of ideas. Now that IS democracy No wonder a large proportion of American Apologists are feeling ashamed that they have been duped and so, there should be a recount. I would consider that an absolute pre-requisite before the Inauguration Ceremony on - is it January 21st??
