Myrtle the Turtle Flies High at Tusk Auction

It was an exciting evening literally at the top of the world, where all 16 Trail Turtles were assembled ready for the Live Auction to raise funds for Tusk and their many conservation projects across Africa. The auction raised £160,000 for the charity with Ronnie Wood and Hannah Shergold both in attendance to see their entries go under the hammer.

It was a bitter sweet event for Ralph Steadman’s offering, Mrytle the Hawksbill Turtle which failed to find a buyer in the online silent auction. We believe that there are plans to re-auction the unsold turtles. Myrtle is inspired by Ralph Steadman’s drawing from Critical Critters (2015), his 3rd book with Ceri Levy.  It is the final book in The Gonzovation Trilogy.
